The young James Gatz, born into a humble family, decides to leave North Dakota with the will to transform himself and his identity: he thus becomes Jay Gatsby. In Louisville, where he is for military training, he meets Daisy Fay, with whom he falls in love; upon returning to Europe after the First World War, however, Gatsby discovers that his beloved has married a well-known Chicago polo player. Here begins his journey to win her back, narrated by the narrator of the novel, Nick Carraway, cousin of Daisy and neighbor of Gatsby. The area of ??Long Island where they live is teeming with nouveau riche whose only interest is organizing exclusive parties and receptions, but in reality hides a world of loneliness and fragility. Gatsby, who is now part of this “glittering” society, after realizing that to realize one’s dream it is not enough to have any means, will suffer an unhappy end, desperate for love for the beautiful Daisy.
