Skills for Work: Book 2 – At Work

In Book 2: At Work students learn more about employability skills related to workplaces and working. The units of work are:

• verbal communication
• creativity and initiative
• teamwork
• written communication
• problem solving
• technological literacy
• personal organisation

Each unit contains:

• a list of activity ideas written as short prompts to start teachers thinking about activities that can be organised and delivered quickly and easily in most classroom settings
• a range of photocopiable worksheets and information handouts, as well as suggested strategies to guide students through developing skills in many of the areas
• a wordfind or crossword that can be used to reinforce concepts and language introduced in class

Skills for Work can be used in a number of ways:

• as the basis for stand-alone units for work
• as a support for a wider classroom program
• at a number of year levels and across program areas
