Caesar wants to make the small Gallic village that taunts him disappear. To do this, he wanted to build a model Roman city around it. Thus, the isolated village will have to – according to him – disappear or adapt and become Roman. The city’s architect first clashed with the Gauls who prevented him from clearing the forest. But the latter finally let it happen so that the slaves in charge of this work could be freed. Once the first building was built and the Roman tenants arrived on site, the situation quickly deteriorated in the small village: everyone was looking to take advantage of this new clientele.
